Meatball Marinara Sliders

Food for a crowd that I know everyone will love!

You can't go wrong with a handheld sandwich. Actually...you might need a knife and fork for this one.

They are a little messy because of the marinara sauce and cheesy mozzarella.

Perfect for game days, you can't go wrong!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef

  • 1 egg

  • ⅓ cup Italian breadcrumbs

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan

  • 1 tsp garlic seasoning salt

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp pepper

  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce

  • 1 dozen rolls

  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese

Garlic butter

  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • ¼ tsp kosher salt

Directions

  1. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan, seasoning salt, pepper, and parsley. Form the ground turkey mixture into 12 even size balls and place them on a plate.

  2. Preheat a large skillet to medium heat and drizzle olive oil. Sear the meatballs on almost all sides, about 7 minutes turning occasionally. Turn the heat on medium low. Pour the marinara sauce into the pan and top with the lid. (You can add crushed red pepper flakes for some heat *optional) Simmer for about 15-18 minutes until fork knife tender.

  3. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter a large baking dish, 9x13. Place the bottom side rolls on the dish.

  4. In a small pot, melt the butter on low heat, stir in the garlic, parsley, olive oil and salt. Allow the garlic to soften, about 3-5 minutes. Set aside.

  5. Once the meatballs are done, place each meatball on a roll and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Repeat. Brush over the garlic butter. Top with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then, remove foil and bake for 5 minutes longer. Serve and Enjoy!
